ALTER EGO PERFORMING ARTS ASSOICATION

In 2011 Alter Ego will be celebrating their 25th year competing in the winter guard activity. This is a tremendous milestone for the guard, and especially for Mary Ann and Joseph Cinque, Executive Directors of the ALTER EGO PERFORMING ARTS ASSOCIATION who started Alter Ego a quarter of a century ago!
Alter Ego is a multi-time W.G.I. Independent A Class Finalist and medalist. After attaining the Independent A Class Bronze Medal in 1998 the guard was promoted to the next highest class of competition. Over the course of the next decade the color made finals 4 times in the Independent Open Class, and in 2008 was proclaimed the Independent Open Class World Champion at W.G.I. Championships in Dayton, OH. While waiting to take the floor in their finals performance Joseph Cinque emotionally exclaimed, "...this is the moment we've been waiting 22 years for."
The W.G.I. Review Committee completed their evaluation of the guard at the end of the 2008 season, and promoted them to the coveted Independent World Class. The guard reached another milestone and placed 12th in the Independent World Class at the 2009 W.G.I. World Championships & 11th at the 2010 W.G.I. World Championships.
In 2011 the unit will once again compete in the Independent World Class, and it is sure to be another exciting season! Auditions will be here before you know it, so please check the web site often for updates and exciting announcements about the organization and the 2011 design and technical team!
